When ever I try to start FS the splash screen comes up, and then a message pops up that says "Microsoft Flight Simulator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it kicks me off. 😞 Please Help.

It can be many things.
Start with reloading DirectX 9.0c and be sure you have the "Flight Simulator" folder in "My Documents"
Did you just load anything new, a Windows patch, anything since you last used the sim.

If that doesn't work, this is for XP. Delete this and the sim should build another.

The fs9.cfg file is now located in Drive_Letter:\Documents and Settings\User_Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9. This is a hidden folder by default so you need to modify the folder options via the control panel: go to the view tab and check the "Show hidden files and folders" option
