Yes, RadarMan included a link in the last post to the Microsoft Sidewinder site. The link again is:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/sidewinder/downloads.asp

You should be able to get your drivers there.

thanks for your help, but i have been to that site already...those drivers are for windows 95 and windows 98 only...for some reason they dont work for xp...windows xp doesnt support a windows product..i dont understand why..i guess im just going to have to play fs2004 on windows 98 because you really need to play this game with a joystick...what joystick do you play it with..??

UnsureI use the MS Sidewinder, not Force Feedback. It works like a charm but some of the new ones are much better.
I'll stay with this until I can afford a yoke and pedals. Doh!

Try this (I didn't look all the way) and see if it helps you.

I found this post on some other forums. I hope it helps! 😂

Someone wrote:

These drivers are already in WIN-XP. I had the same problem and after much research found that if you remove the hardware (Force Feedback, allow Windows to find it again and follow the Windows instructions. Windows will find the appropriate drivers and install them. I searched all over to find this information and finally someone on a FlightSim website came up with the answer. Microsoft sites were of no help on this...because naturally they want you to buy the latest version of the Force Feedback Stick.

So this is what I did:

Click: Control Panel
Click: Game Controller
Click: Add
Scroll and Highlight: Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback PRO
Click: OK
Click: OK

….and it’s installed, up and running!

Easy as falling off the proverbila log.

Best of luck! 🍻

i tried doing what that person said..but everytime i try to add the controller it says "your gameport or gameport drivers are not properly configured. PLease consult the device manager.
so i go to the device manager and i look under OTHER DEVICES..there is a big yellow question mark by it and there are 3 other yellow question marks by NETWORK CONTROLLER, SM BUS Controller and USB CONTROLLER.. my joystick is hooked up through a USB so i clicked that and it said "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 2😎

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver"

I tried to reinstall drives from the windows XP cd but they could nto find them....please write back if u know how to resolve this..

Umm... Go to the device manager, delete the joystick from it (the big yellow question mark) thereby eliminating any traces of it from the system.
Reboot and Windows should recognize it and install any drivers that it has in it's system.
Let us know if that works. Wacko

I've never tried using a converter (ps/2 to USB) so I don't know if that's the problem.

After you deleted it didn't it show up again in the device manager.

No sorry I've never used AOL, I'm on straight cable. That would be the easy way.

Did you ever go to Windows update after you reformatted you h/d? Or have you downloaded SP1.

Here is MS's driver page.

This is their SP1 page.
