CaptainWhich aircrafts do you like the most? I like the Boeings' nose better, but I like the Airbuses' wings better, and that I find them easier to maneuver (dunno why, just feels easier. it's like Airbuses respond better...)

First OfficerAgus, is the 787 medium or long-haul? What gap is it trying to fill - the 767 maybe? Because it seems that the 777-200 and upcoming 747-8 will be Boeing's new options for long haul.

There are actually a few models of the 787; all designed for different operatins. The 787-3, 787-8, and 787-9.
The 787-3 is designed to replace the 757. Short to medium haul carrying close to 200 passengers.
The 787-8 and 787-9 are designed for longhaul. The -8 is more towards long, thin routes (Think Phoenix-Shanghai) and the -9 is more towards current day 767 routes.

I think your right, it's supposed to replace the 767, and it's long haul, I think it's supposed to have a range of a little over 8,500 knotical miles (9,600 statute).

Yes, 8,500 nm is the range of the B787.

The length is 56m. The wingspan is 58.8m and the height is 17.4m. The range is 15,700km (8,500nm).
