Hi there.
How much fuel (pounds) does a b747 use per hour at cruise altitude.
Thanks
Does this help?

Remind me not to get on Crash's bad side.
I regularly fly long haul B747 flights and have used the following to calculate fuel.
Number of miles of flight x average pounds per mile.
I use 30 lbs per mile as an average. This will give you plenty of fuel including a healthy reserve. You can use 28lbs per mile and still be in good shape, 26 starts cutting it close as far as the reserve goes. This is calculated for FL400 (different altitude, different fuel consumption).
Denver Co - Sydney Australia
approx 7400 miles
220000 lbs of fuel required.
I have done this flight many many times, and you have plenty of fuel left.
