I think the shot is quite deceiving I imagine there was an amount of margin for error.

Or a brave camera man 😳

Answered

yeah i agree with ph. Hard to say how much of the runway was really left 😕

Nice video all the same 👍

It's a cool video but the shot is taken with a lot of magnification. Telephoto lenses foreshorten the foreground so there really is no way to tell how much runway he had left. Still, I bet an engine failure or even off on the weight would have been exciting.

Long focal length (telephoto) lenses compress the apparent distance. The guy filming it had a zoom lense on telephoto and pulled out as the plane took off.

....But as Jon said, nice video 😉

Impressive video, if I didn't read all the other posts first I would have been worried.

On a similar note, this is not a video but someone posted it on another forum and I thought it was cool. At first I thought it was a Photoshop but it's not.
Anyone recognize the airport?

Princess Juliana - Netherland Antilles.

Awesome picture, and a lot of fun to fly into, both in real life, and fs.

Bingo!

I've only flown into it in FS2004.
