Ok, the thing is, I did the around the world before, but I did it in a 747-400.
But I now want to do it again, but in a 737-700. All the land routes are ok, as the 737-700 has a maximum range of 3260nm
But what I'm wondering, how am I going to get accross the pacific ocean?
The route I did in the 744 before this was
Heathrow - Rome - Baghdad - Bangkok - Tokyo - LA - Bermuda - Heathrow
I would like to do that route again (but maybe in reverse) but obviously Tokyo - LA is far too long for a 737-700 to cross, is there another way, another place I can stopover half way accross the pacific, just a small island with an airport or whatever?
What about Hawaii? will the airplane have enought fuel to get there?
yes honolulu or kona your choice but dont forget to maintain a certain speed to conserve on fuel
Mach .79 would be my aim.
I'll go high to make sure I get the best fuel economy
Around FL380 or FL390 if possible
If I were doing it, I'd do it (if you wan't to go in reverse)...
Jacksons - (AYPY) to Faleolo Intl - (NSFA) = 2400nm
Faleolo Intl - (NSFA) to Honolulu Intl - (can't remember the ICAO code) = 2200nm
Honolulu Intl - (xxxx) to Los Angeles (KLAX) = 2200nm
😉

Thanks, I think I will do that
I am doing the whole thing with fspax so hopefully all goes well!!
I'll be starting around Saturday this week probably
Good luck! 😉
I think the last time I cross the Pacific in that region I went from the Phillipines to Kwajalein Island (Marshall Islands) to Hawaii to Mexico. That was in a Lear Jet, which has a range of only about 2000 nm.
