If any of you have seen the movie AIRPLANE, do you know what kind of aircraft the Trans American plane is. I need to know because I plan on painting the aircraft.

Thanks

Its a Boeing 707.

I know that it wasn't a 707. Mainly because it didn't have the antenna on the tail. The plane in the movie had two-three seating in coach. The 707 had three-three. It's either a DC-8 or Convair.

Well if you know what it is then why did you make a thread?

The plane they use int he video is a model. So it's not exactly the same as the real thing.

Its not a DC-8 for sure, looking into the convair.

It's a movie. The airplane interior was probably built in a studio somewhere, created by a set designer who didn't know a 707 from a Piper Cub. It has nothing to do with the model that you see.

Real planes don't have Otto Pilots, either. 😉

I know it's not a 707 because there is no antenna. I have narrowed it down to either the DC-8 or Convair. I can't tell the difference between the two. That's why I posted to see if any one knew for sure.
