Hello, I am doing an aircraft for a friend, and I am very new to all this repaint business. I have a E170 and have edited the image files in the FS2004 folder. everytime i try and get onto it in flight simulator it crashes.
What have i done wrong?
Regards,
Alex.
Your info is a bit sketchy to give any advice - need to know what processes you carried out - for example -
1. Have you saved the texture files in a texture folder in the a/c's folder?
2. Have you amended the aircraft.cfg file to reflect the new paint?
3. Have you used DXTbmp.exe to convert the textures?
4. What files did you edit.
etc
I have just taken the image files out of the aircrafts texture folder and then edited them in photoshop. then i saved them to the same folder, 'texture' inside the aircrafts folder.
I do not believe a cfg change is needed because all i did was replace the images on the fuselage. If I do need some cfg changes please advise me.
So I dont think I have:
2. Have you amended the aircraft.cfg file to reflect the new paint?
3. Have you used DXTbmp.exe to convert the textures?
Just so you can see here is the plane at the moment:

Nice to now know that it is a Dreamwings Design aircraft - that would have been a great help at the beginning - it is now getting a bit complicated and really would be better conducted through a PM but as you are not a member then that is impossible - so if you have no objections we could correspond be email - to fool the spammers let me have your address in the following manner - someoneat thingydotcom.
If you agree then include a copy of the [flt.simox] sections in your aircraft.cfg file and you could tell me which aircraft it is and the name of the download file.

Sad to say the email to the above address, bounced!! Should have realised - there's no such ISP as tiscali.com - it is tiscali.co.uk
