Chief Captainmy new headset arrived today. i've used a microphone before, but i cannot get this to work. i have gone into the volume control and made sure the microphone is not muted, then gone into sounds/audio devices to select the headset buuut this is to no avail. when tested i cannot pick up speech. i've tried msn to set it up, voice recognition...am i doing something wrong, or is it whack?
i've followed instructions on the skype website, on the microsoft site...

Chief CaptainHave you tried opening Windows Control Panel,Sound and Audio Devices.
Click Advanced on the volume tab.On the new panel that opens click properties and put a tick on the microphone box
Can you test it on your hifi system ?
