Heya all,
Just a quick question for you all. Asides from assigning failures before flying, does your plane ever suffer a random failure/damage/storm damage??
Cheers all
Nick
No, you won't get any failures unless you set the program for failures. The only exception is Overstressed. If you have the correct box highlighted in the aircraft settings menu, rough handling of the aircraft(excessive G forces) will cause a crash. 🙂
Without having any failures set my ASI has recently become erratic. It will stop suddenly but other speed instruments and the mach indicator will not be affected so I get contradicting speed info. Could the gauge be corrupted?
Sounds more likely that you're experiencing Pitot ice. If the OAT is below freezing and you're in the clouds, you have to turn on the Pitot heat to avoid ice collecting in the opening of the Pitot tube used to sense air pressure for the air speed indicator (ASI). Use the switch on the panel or hit Shift+H.
