Fuel Planning

Hi all,

Can somebody help me out with calculating how much fuel is required for journeys. I always end up with too much fuel when landing making me land faster than usual.

Thanks 😀

There are a lot of ways and calculation utilities about it.

A simple method which i use as a not proffesional virtual pilot is to check the Estimated Fuel Burn in my Navigation Log.I always add some more..just in case. 😀

Wait for more responces from the proffesionals. 😉

Depends on the aircraft your flying and destination, factors come in to play from flight to flight such as
aircraft used
pushback taxi to runway
TO climb
cruising speed
desending
taxi back to gate .ect.ect.ect
also weather plays a factor in fuel burn, so does altitutde, for example i fly the B763 out of KSFO to KSEA typicly ill burn 1500 to 2000 lbs from pushback to taxi, and climb using 7500 to 8000 lbs of fuel to a cruise altitude of FL270 and use about 12000 lbs ill decend using about 5500 to 6000 lbs to my destination then finally use about 500 to 1000 lbs to taxi to my gate. Also ill add about 1 hr reserve fuel about 17,000 to 20,000 lbs depends on weather conditions. There is no rock solid fuel cal out there, my suggestion to you is try a few filghts to the same destination using unlimited fuel in different weather conditions and average out the fuel used.
