FS 2004 loading problems

I'm having toruble loading FS 2004 on my machine - it just hangs on the startup screen. I've tried loading it several times (complete, compact), and still the same problem. Also won't work in safe mode. I have an HP P4 2.66GHz w/ 1 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce MX 440 w/ 128MB RAM running MS XP (Media Center Edition) so it should work without a hitch.

Any ideas?

It usually turns out to be that you need to download DirectX 9.0c.
Try that and this fix from MS, let us know how you do.
