can anyone tell me what autorudder means/is for?

That's to ease your job when flying. Computer adjusts the rudder automatically, so you don't have to. It's not a real world thing. It's just for us wannabe pilots and can be found in FS only. Try turnning that off and see how it is. Check this article so you get more aquanted wih this very important part of an aircraft. 😉

As I understand it, the Yaw damper will prevent the momentum following a turn, so that the Yaw is minimised.
