It's an exe, executable. Just click it run it and it's installed.
It has to be on a new install of FSX. If you have any preexisting scenery on it you get a bad install and problems.
Defrag before and after.

Windows won't allow a defrag...if not you have a problem.

there should be no relationship between installing SP1 and any problem defragging your hd. something else is usually the problem; what error do you get?

does SP1 improve your FSX experience is the main question you should ask wrt deleting it. if it does, keep it. if it doesnt, dont.

it say snap-in fallied to intalize my pc has 1 gb ram 80gb hard drive and a 2.5 ghs prosser

It seems unlikely that FSX SP1 install would break snap-ins for Defrag.

You can try uninstalling SP1 and if the problem persists, then you need to ask on on OS forum.
