The plane that crashed on Thursday was on autopilot, based on my mornings paper. It shouldn't be on those freezing and icy conditions.
This could be a factor in the crash- Plummeting and not getting easy control 😳
Autopilot is usually ON up until decision height, or the pilot can see the runway, and feels like going hands on.
Running the autopilot is just fine.
Acting like a tard and pulling the yoke back when you get a stall warning, and you are covered in Ice was a stupid thing to do at the altitude they were at.
You aren't supposed to have the autopilot on in those conditions, as I heard.

Since you, and those to who you defer, have very little clue with regards to the goings on in commercial aviation, you should leave the analytics, investigation and the wrong doings to the professionals.
Unless of course, you are type rated and current on the Dash 8-400? Otherwise, don't challenge those that do and those that have thousands of hours on type.

🙄
The NTSB said it was on Autopilot. Experts said it shouldn't be on.
"Experts"....an ominous title given to those that accept money to talk rubbish on media chat shows / news channels. These are the kind of people that when looking for an A320 performing an emergency landing (during a real time emergency broadcast) will quite unashamedly look at a Boeing 767 and say "Here it comes!!".
Try reading this guy's blog; he explains it better:

He's an A320 Captain for US Airways and has flown the Dash 8-100 too.
