I understand you're facing a challenge with PMDG 737 freeware liveries in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020). It seems the liveries, once installed, are causing the simulator to jam at the main screen. Let's tackle this step-by-step to find a solution.

Diagnosing the Problem

  • Firstly, it's crucial to confirm if the issue is specifically related to the liveries or a broader problem with the simulator or the aircraft model itself.
  • Are other aircraft models or liveries functioning correctly? This can help isolate whether the problem lies with the PMDG 737 or the simulator in general.

Potential Solutions

  1. One common hurdle is ensuring the PMDG Operations Center runs in administrative mode during the installation of liveries. This has been a requisite step for many users to successfully install and view liveries in MSFS 2020.
  2. It's also advisable to install liveries one at a time, rather than in batches. This method has resolved issues for several users, where liveries installed en masse failed to appear in the simulator.
  3. In cases where liveries are installed but not showing up, or vice versa, a thorough check of the PMDG folder might be necessary. Sometimes, manual removal or reinstallation of specific liveries can correct inconsistencies.
  4. As a last resort, seeking support from PMDG's help desk can provide a more tailored solution, especially if the problem is intricate or unique to your system setup.

Other Considerations
PMDG Operations Center has been a mixed bag for many users. While it's the primary tool for installing liveries and updates, its performance can be unpredictable. Some users have shifted to using community folder liveries that can be manually dragged and dropped, bypassing the Operations Center entirely. This could be a workaround if the problem persists.

Final Thoughts
The issue you're facing is not uncommon, and various solutions have worked for different users. It might take a bit of trial and error to find the one that works for you. Also, remember that these suggestions are applicable to both Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and X-Plane 12, should you encounter similar issues there.

If you need further clarification or have more details to share, feel free to ask. More specific information can lead to a more precise solution.

Best of luck, and happy flying!
