Today I met someone who explained to me that his grandfather was shot down in a spitfire by a BF109 during the middle of the WWII. He said that when his grandfather ejected, his one ball got wedged inbetween the mirror on top of the spitfire. After getting wedged his ball was ripped off whilst the plane was falling out of the sky 😳 😳 😂

The same happens to me sometimes.
So that's what "Flying by the Seat of Your Pants" means.
Quite common too for knee injuries from ejection seat exits.
