video card reccomendation

hello all,
in the sim, Im getting choppy frame rates, and the display settings are not to high...if i wanted to be able to raise the display settings, and get better frame rates, what video card do you reccomend. I currently have NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000..Im gonna have to come up with he money myself, cause I dont wna annoy my parents...i just think it would be better for them if i get it myself, so please, nothing "top of the line"...just reasonable...thx!

How much is "reasonable".
I would go ATI Radeon Pro 128, the price is slowly coming down and the card is a wonderful buy before you go to anything in the 256mb range.

Before you spend, see about getting some new DRIVERS for your current card.... I got some new OMEGA drivers for free and they transformed the graphics in the Sim....

A friend sent them to me by email so I'm not sure where to get them from, but I know they were completely free !

If you are going to get a new card, make it worthwhile .... If you don't soend much money, you won't get much improvement and you'll be disappointed.

The ATI Radeon X800 is fab but quite expensive.

I agree with Pro-Sim about the X800XT, but it runs HOT! Especially in my PC, i just bought a big personal fan, and i've got it sitting right next to my open case!
