Flying in to Gran Caneria yesterday and when I saw the airport I decided I was too high for a safe landing at the right speed so I declared missed approach to controller and it gave me two options. DECLARE MISSED and DECLARE MISSED- PUBLISHED. What does published mean and what's the difference?

Tnx in advance.

I'm unsure if you are in default Flight Simulator or Fspassenger. I don't use ATC very much but Missed-Published means flying the missed approach procedure as published on the instrument approach chart for that runways approach.

Missed approach could mean a VFR go around or fly alternate missed approach instructions given by the tower instead of published missed approach procedure.
