fs9.exe, hangup

KL Guest

Hi,
Something happened to my FS9, when I try to start it, the starting window comes up, then stops completely.
These are the files that wants to include in the error message to microsoft:
C\DOcume`1\Locals`1\Temp\WERB1.tmp.dir00\fs9.exe
C\DOcume`1\Locals`1\Temp\WERB1.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

I don't know what these are, tried to find them but after reaching the Temp file I cant find the rest.
Could anyone help me with this?
Thanks!
Las

appcompat.txt is not a problem it is the reporting mechanism that Windows uses to report a problem

fs9.exe is found in your Flight sim main (root) folder

Reboot your computer and see if you still get the problem, it's not the sim it could be anywhere.

If you still have a problem delete the fs9.cfg, hold down the left shift key and launch the sim, it'll build another.

fs9.cfg file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\User_Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9. This is a hidden folder by default so you need to modify the folder options via the control panel: go to the view tab and check the "Show hidden files and folders" option

Thanks Captain,
I did everything you suggested, unfortunately still have the same problem.
Is it possible to replace that .exe file, would it make a difference?
A clean reinstallation might solve the problem, but I have so many add-ons it would take forever to reinstall everything, and I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Is there anything else I could do?
Thanks for your help!

I'm going to guess that by this post, the exe is on disk 1 or 2. Drag it off and delete the old one.
