Hi all,
Having recently installed FS9 onto my computer, downloading and installing the 9.1 patch, I am having one problem with FS9. This problem pertains to the kneeboard. I can open the kneebaord, however, when I click on "Checklist", and click on the down-arrow, FS9 shuts down, and changes into a black screen. After about 30 seconds the "Send Error Report to Microsoft" message appears, and then I can exit the program.
I have downloaded all the latest drivers for my ATI Radeon 9200 AGP graphics card, my Realtek AC97 speakers, and have even downloaded the latest version of DirectX.
Can anyone help out with this problem?
Thanks in advance,
RSA_SEAL
That's stumped us so far, the only reason that we've found is if your running either one of these two programs. RoboForm WindowBlinds. If so dump them.
Thanks for the reply RadarMan. I don't have either of those programs on my computer, so I have no clue what could possibly be causing this...

I just found this on the net.
******************
Go to START then to RUN type "regedit" Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
then expand "SOFTWARE" Scroll down to "MICROSOFT" and expand that.
then go to "WINDOWS" Expand that. Then go to "Run" and highlight
"RUN" BY CLICKING ON IT. To the right of your scrren you will see all
the programs that start when your computer boots up. find viewmgr.exe
and delete it. Let us know how it works.

Thanks RadarMan, it worked like a charm. I've posted this problem on about 7 FS9 forums, and this forum is the only one to come up with a solution that works.
Thanks again!!

👏 Fantastic, thank you for letting me know that it works. 👍
I'm sure that we will run into it again somewhere down the line and now know how to fix it.
You guys rock! I've been plagued by this problem for WEEKS. I have put off tons of planned flights just because of that problem! Thank you!
🙂
HI, I WENT TO THOS FILES ON SYSTEMREG, HOWEVER AT THE WINDOWS FILE WHEN I EXPAND IT, IT DOESN'T SHOW A FILE OR ANYTHING CALLED RUN? DO YOU KNOW WHY?

You may need to click on "CURRENT VERSION" after "WINDOWS". You should find your "Run" folder there. Good luck 🙂 George
P.S. Thanks "RadarMan" for "Run"ning this down for us.
I just posted a HUGE THANKS to RADARMAN on another part of this forum. I had the IDENTICAL PROBLEM (flights would crash the sim) and removing that registry key solved it!!!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you use regedit and go into the regestry or search for the file viewmgr.exe?
Yes I followed the instructions exactly but could not fined vewmgr.exe. I wonder if it could be named something els . My OS is 2000 Pro. and I am using Nvidia Gforce FX 5200 , was using geforce2 MX-400 had the same problem. I thought that maybe it might be my browser but the real whether works fine . I think for now I will just keep a real knee board handy , untill I can fined out what the problem is. thanks for the help , maybe together we can figure it out.
😞 That seemed to be the fix for a few people.
Going on the assuption that it is something in the startup that may be causing the problem you might use msconfig and go to the startup tab and hit the disable all button. Then restart the computer and see if the problem is still there. This would at least give us an idea if somthing in the startup is causing the problem. If the problem goes away you can use the process of elimination enabling a few at a time until the problem reappears. Once we identified the culprit we will be able to eliminate it.
