Was wondering if it would be possible to not have the text display for radio chatter not directed at me.

Answered

ATC text is either on or off. I'm not sure I understand why people really need ATC text displayed anyway. Do you have a hard time understanding the commands?

Answered

Because if you are doing more than one thing, then you can read it instead of having to listen to it, which I find slightly easier. If you miss a vital detail you can check by reading it.

in the real world when you are multitasking and miss something ATC says, you can just ask for a repeat.

ATC in busy airspaces talk fast, and that's why I always use a kneepad to scratch down frequencies, heading and altitude assignments, and of course squawk codes.

If you want to get a feel for the real thing, forget about text screens... learn to hear the voice and right down things... real fast.

But I suppose it all boils down to personal opinion and realism. I just wish I had any MSFS series when I first learned to fly years ago.

In settings under ATC there is a setting for show all ATC
Unselect it and you only get the text for your aircraft
