FS9 when it has been installed for about 3 months more or less the ATC studders and stammers..??? I have a 2k box, gig of ram, 30 gig harddrive, 128 mb vidioecard (AGP) and occording to MS I have the latest drivers for my soundcard SB Live (PCI) 16 bit. Has anybody had this problem and if so how do you fix it? IN the meantime have uninstalled FS9 awaiting advise from you fine folks here on Flight Simulator.

Thanks,

I'm not certain which applies, you are a better judge at that. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Radarman,

None of them describe this problem. I did install the DirectX9C today and did not re-install FS9 yet. Maybe that was it. I ran the interface and there were no problems. If anybody comes across anything simular please let me know.

edr,
Try going to /start/run/type in dxdiag/hit ok/ and test your sound.
Go to http://www.pcpitstop.com and run a full diagnostic (free) they are a very trustworthy site.
As a last resort I would delete the sound card in the device manager, reboot and let Windows find it. Possibly take it out and reseat it also.
Deleting and reinstalling the drivers for it would be last resort measures.
It's rare that anything "goes wrong" but it can happen.
Try unplugging your speakers and seeing if the contact jack isn't corroded at all.
I'm trying to grasp at the unlikely.

Have you uninstalled any other apps or games? Sometimes this can remove "unused" shared files. I did that before and had to reregister a couple.
I had a lot of stuttery noise, and no ATC or jet sounds.
See if this thread helps...

I've had this problem ever since I changed to using an LCD screen. on my CRT monitor it sounded fine, but when there is an image of clouds up ahead, the framerates drop and the sound suffers. it is something to do with an LCD screen that messes up the frame rates im afraid. The sound seems like it relys on that. Try flying with no clouds and see what happens. If it sounds clear then there is the problem.

I have not installed another software since installing FS9. I did uninstall Train Simulator about three months ago??? RadarMan I didn't think about the jack, I'll try that once I re-install FS9. I have been to pc pitstop no problems indicated. I have tested the sound and all of my devices with DirectX 9C and no problems. Steeev, I will aslo try your sugesstions, you never know. Guest, I have had some simular problems but I have a CRT.

Thanks to all,
