Hi
I have just started using this service and although I have placed files (UK piers) into the community folder as instructed no piers show in FS. In fact, no add-ons seem to work. I am running the Steam version.
Hi there,
It's unfortunate to hear that you're experiencing issues with your UK piers add-ons in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Let's try to troubleshoot the problem and get those piers to show up in your sim.
First, ensure that the add-on folders you've placed in the Community folder are structured correctly. Each add-on should have a separate folder containing a manifest.json file and a layout.json file, along with the associated content files. Double-check that these files are present and in the correct location.
If the folder structure seems to be in order, the next step would be to verify the installation path for your Steam version of MSFS 2020. The Community folder should be located within the main installation directory of the game. For Steam users, this path typically looks like:
C:\Users[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
However, if you've chosen a custom installation path, the location of the Community folder may be different. In that case, navigate to your MSFS 2020 installation directory, and find the Packages folder. Inside, you should see the Community folder where your add-ons should be placed.
Another possible issue could be related to the version of your add-ons. Ensure that the add-ons you're using are compatible with the current version of MSFS 2020. If they are outdated, you might need to update them or find alternatives that are compatible with the latest version of the simulator.
If all of the above checks out, and you're still not seeing the UK piers or any other add-ons in your simulator, it might be worth trying the following steps:
I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue and allow you to enjoy the UK piers add-ons in your Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 experience. If you're still experiencing problems, please don't hesitate to reach out for further assistance.
Happy flying!
Ok so where do these folders come from.... manifest.json file and a layout.json file, I am not sure they were in the download from your web site? Fly Away but will check and so it was one folder downloaded with several bridges inside. So I am taking it just add the single folder that was downloaded not each individual bridge files??? So these files you mentioned they would be in from the download correct from your dite since it was a MSFS 2020 download they shoud be inside but do not reall them being there. If not then how wouold I get them in the download? Very confusing but I will check if they are in the downloaded folder and just confirm I only put the one folder that was downloaded with several Piers that were insdie this folder leave them al lin one folder??? Yes
Thanks

Ok just downloaded the file from Fly Away again and the folder just has the piers. There are no .json files in the downloaded folder so this would explane it. So then the downloaded file is not going to work? Has anyone esle used this download and how did they get it to work??
Thanks for any help. That would be the reason for no Piers....
